Environment Frendly Products
We are serious about taking care of our environment and for that reason HPI is proud to offer a variety of "green" environmentally preferable products for graphic and sign production, some in stock and some by special order. These products and services have a lesser or reduced effect on human health and the environment when compared to other products and services that serve the same purpose.
We are committed to staying abreast of the latest developments in environmentally friendly substrates suitable for graphics production and will consider special order materials as suggested by our customers.
HP LATEX INKS
The HP Latex Ink is water-based and made from completely recyclable materials. The ink's main ingredients are latex polymer and pigment particles. Its composition is 70% water and 30% additives. It is also odorless and does not release any toxic fumes when it is used. It is low on VOCs, does not have dangerous air pollutants and does not emit ozone. Hence it is eco-friendly and does not endanger your health. When it comes to durability Hewlett-Packard assures on the HP Latex Ink that any outdoor signage printed out with this ink on a wide-format printer can last up to three years if un-laminated and five years if laminated. As for indoor signage printed using this ink, the lifespan would be five years if un-laminated and ten years or more if laminated. Images on these display media are vivid in color as well as sharp in detail with the use of the HP Latex Ink.
UV Ink Printers
A major part of HPI's Environmental Initiative is the installation of additional UV Ink Printers in Summer of 2009, thus eliminating all solvent ink based printers in the production facility. HPI now has a variety of UV Ink printers from VuTek and Roland. Using these printers is a more conscientious way to print large-format prints for a number of reasons:
- UV inks release almost zero VOC’s (Volitile Organic Compounds) into the atmosphere. This creates a safer workplace for our employees as well as a healthier global environment.
- The Vutek printers are the highest-quality printers on the market today. Their consistency in color and tone allows for less waste and better use of material.
- The Vutek printers have the capability of printing on a wide range of materials including a number of “green” materials that keep our environment in mind.
NEW! 3M UV curable Inks
3M UV-cured inks are durable‚ weather resistant, and have excellent color retention. Their flexibility makes them suitable for use on curved‚ corrugated or flat surfaces when producing fleet and vehicle graphics‚ indoor and outdoor signs‚ banners and flexible sign faces.
Special Substrates
BIOflex is a durable white, flexible 13oz. PVC that is tear and fade resistant and will withstand all types of weather conditions. Bioflex can last years in indoor and outdoor applications depending on weather conditions. It is well suited for varies applications such as front-lit digital or silk-screened signs or banners.
BIOboard is a sturdy, light weight flatboard that is 100% recyclable. It's also made from 63% post consumer waste.
